KooKusi Releases Sophomore EP “Greetings From Abroad”

KooKusi

Texas-based Ghanaian rapper and songwriter KooKusi has released his much-anticipated sophomore EP titled “Greetings From Abroad”.

The 7-track EP is a testament to his unique sound and ability to captivate his audience with his music.

KooKusi, whose real name is Nana Kofi Kusi-Boadum, released his debut EP “5foot3” in 2022. He describes himself as a content-bias rapper and songwriter who focuses on mental health. He is also a pharmacist currently furthering his education in the United States.

To give his fans a glimpse of what to expect on the EP, KooKusi released the lead single “No Where Cool” featuring R.B.D, one of the artistes he featured on the EP. The other featured artistes include AratheJay, Michael Adjaloo, and Muyra Hub Studio.

The title of the EP, “Greetings From Abroad”, was inspired by an early 2000s Ghanaian TV show hosted by Nana Adwoa Awindor, the mother of popular Ghanaian singer Efya. The show featured Ghanaians and Africans living abroad who shared their stories and struggles about life overseas and how they missed their families back home. On the EP, KooKusi tells this story from his own perspective, sharing his experiences and struggles as a Ghanaian living in the United States.

With his unique blend of Afrobeat and hip-hop, KooKusi brings his listeners on a journey through his life experiences. The EP includes tracks such as “Greatest Fear”, “Agya Amo Calling”, and “Nsuro“. Each track showcases KooKusi’s ability to deliver meaningful lyrics while maintaining a catchy and upbeat rhythm that keeps his audience engaged.

Overall, “Greetings From Abroad” is a portrayal of KooKusi’s growth as an artiste and his ability to tell his story through his music.
