Burna Boy has unveiled the tracklist for his highly anticipated seventh studio album “I Told Them” with confirmed features from J. Cole, Dave, Seyi Vibez, and more.
Repeatedly, Burna Boy has showcased himself time and again as one of the premier artistes when it comes to crafting albums. With an impressive track record of six previous instances that display his talent, coupled with two Grammy nominations and the distinction of being a recipient of a Grammy-winning album, his achievements are nothing short of remarkable. Presently, he’s on the cusp of releasing his seventh album, the highly awaited “I Told Them” scheduled for release soon.
The painstakingly curated album tracklist was recently unveiled on billboards in both Los Angeles and Manhattan. This revelation was shared publicly through a post by Spotify on Instagram. The album comprises a total of 15 tracks and is complemented by three pre-released singles: “Big 7,” “Sitting On Top of The World” with 21 Savage, and a bonus track, the hard-hitting dancehall cut “Talibans II” featuring Byron Messia.
The album boasts an array of other exciting features, with the standout being a collaboration with J. Cole. This announcement sent the internet into a frenzy, with excitement escalating for this monumental feature. The track featuring J. Cole is titled “Thanks,” a song Burna Boy had teased briefly in a live video a few months earlier.
And that’s not all. Building on the notable success of “Location”, “I Told Them” will showcase another collaboration between Burna Boy and Dave. They join forces once again for the track “Cheat On Me”.
Continuing the trend of featuring just one Nigerian artiste on his recent projects, as seen with Zlatan on “African Giant” and Victony on “Love, Damini,” the upcoming album will feature the fast-rising Seyi Vibez on the song “Giza”.
Lastly, an early glimpse of the self-directed music video for the track “City Boy” has also been unveiled. Notably, the teaser includes an exciting cameo by Migos rapper Quavo, adding an extra layer of anticipation.
With just a few days remaining until the album’s release on August 25th, anticipation is reaching an all-time high. Interestingly, this release date is being speculated to coincide with Drake’s highly awaited “For All The Dogs” album, promising an intriguing clash of musical experiences.
