Slowly marking his turf as one of Ghana’s next-gen afrobeat acts to watch out for, Skillz8figure unveils visuals to groovy single “Kolo”.
With one EP, “Gangsta Luv”, and a handful of singles, singer-rapper, Skillz8figure has gradually marked his turf on the music scene.
His reputation for a rugged almost “gangster” approach to the afrobeat genre – and crafting a unique hybrid soundscape composed of trap and afrobeat elements was first introduced to the masses on the track “Champagne” off Ghanaian music conglomerate Ground Up Chale’s “We Outside: Ye Wo Abonten” compilation project, where he featured Quamina MP and Prettyboy D-O.
“Kolo” is undoubtedly the biggest song off his well-received debut project “Gangsta Luv”, and it thus comes as no surprise that he is finally delivering it’s long-awaited visuals.
Directed by J-Wills the video is predominantly shot in an ambient mercurial neon lit setting and sights Skillz8figure and his beautiful muse as the centre of attraction. The video also spots cut-away party scenes of a young group sharing a good time with one another.
