On March 10, a fake BBC News Twitter account shocked the world when they posted about Daniel Radcliffe’s alleged positive coronavirus test. It didn’t help that many reputable publications and reporters retweeted the false claim or covered the fake news themselves. We, therefore, decided to put together a list of celebrities and global icons who have contracted the coronavirus.
Sophie Trudeau
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, former television host, and the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, also tested positive for coronavirus. “She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,” a statement from the office of the prime minister said about her condition.
Idris Elba
Actor Idris Elba said he has tested positive for Covid-19. Elba, 47, said he received his test results Monday morning.
So far, the “Luther” star said he feels “OK” and is showing no symptoms, according to a video posted to Twitter.
Elba said he had been isolated since finding out last Friday that he had been exposed to someone who tested the positive.
Kristofer Hivju
“Game of Thrones” actor is one of the latest celebrities to say he’s been diagnosed with the coronavirus. In a post made to Instagram on Monday, actor Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane on the HBO series, said he tested positive for Covid-19. Hivju, a Norwegian actor, said he and his family are self-isolating upon the news.
Mike Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is “feeling better already” after testing positive for coronavirus. The Gunners have closed their training ground, while staff who had recent contact with Arteta are self-isolating.
Calum Hudson Odoi
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has insisted he is fully recovered after testing positive for coronavirus. Speaking on Friday morning via his Twitter page, the winger said he was feeling better and will continue to self-isolate.
He stated: “As you may be aware, I had the virus for the last couple of days, which I’ve recovered from.
Olga Kurylenko
Olga Kurylenko, who most notably played Camille Montes in the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace, revealed that she tested positive for coronavirus after feeling under the weather for nearly a week. Kurylenko says she was experiencing fatigue, and had a noticeable fever when she decided to get tested.
In her next Instagram post where she thanked people for their well wishes, Kurylenko responded to people questioning why she was quarantining herself at home after finding out she had coronavirus. “Because hospitals are full and they are only taking patients that are struggling with life, if I understand correctly, I was told that if I get worse to call an ambulance,” she wrote.

Fans of actor Tom Hanks were shocked to learn that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been diagnosed with coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, during a trip to Australia.

Daniele Rugani
Juventus have announced that 25-year-old defender Daniele Rugani has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Italy international is the first player from the club to test positive for the virus.
“The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic,” the Italian club said in a short statement published on Wednesday night.
Timo Hubers
German second division footballer has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Hannover say their defender Timo Hubers, 23, is in quarantine at home while the rest of the playing staff will be tested
In a statement, the Bundesliga second division team said the 23-year-old defender is currently under quarantine at home.
“It is assumed that Hubers got infected at an event in Hildesheim on Saturday evening. Since he has had no contact with his teammates since the infection, which can be precisely localized, it cannot be assumed that his teammates have also been infected,” read the statement published on the club website.
Rudy Gobert
Jazz center Rudy Gobert has tested positive for coronavirus, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The NBA has confirmed in a press release that a Jazz player tested positive for COVID-19, though the league didn’t specifically name Gobert as that player. The test result was reported just before tip-off of tonight’s game between Utah and Oklahoma City, which was postponed.
As a result of the coronavirus crisis, the NBA will suspend the season indefinitely following the conclusion of the recent games.
Evangelos Marinakis
The owner of Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos has tested positive for coronavirus.
Marinakis confirmed he had the virus in a post on Instagram. “The recent virus has ‘visited’ me and I felt obliged to let the public know,” he wrote. “I feel good as I take all the necessary measures and I discipline to the doctor’s instructions. I strongly advise all my fellow citizens to do the same. I wish all a quick recovery.”
