American filmmaker and musician, James Gunn, has officially announced the cast of The Suicide Squad.
In a Social Media post, he confirmed that Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Jai Courtney will maintain their roles from the 2016 movie.
New cast members include Taika Waititi, Peter Capaldi, Idris Elba, John Cena, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, David Dastmalchian and Daniela Melchior.
The film centers on a group of supervillains who are forced by the government to work for good – the characters the actors will be playing have not yet been revealed.
Alongside the photo with the cast names, he wrote: “Don’t get too attached.”
The Guardians of the Galaxy director penned the script for the sequel, which is set to be released in 2021, reports Variety.
While the Suicide Squad made over $768 million at the box office, critics slammed the film.
