Timzy Survival opens a deeply personal chapter with ‘Felony’, a powerful Afrobeats record that introduces the story behind his upcoming EP, “Survival”.
Some songs are simply made; others carry the weight of everything an artist has lived through.
‘Felony’ belongs to the latter.
Conceived, written, and recorded by Timzy Survival himself, the track serves as the opening statement to a five-track project built around perseverance, struggle, and the hope of making it through.
Known as Survival, the Ibadan-based Afrobeats artist grew up between Lagos and Ibadan, with music becoming an outlet for processing life, expressing emotion, and finding purpose through difficult moments.
His journey has shaped an identity that feels less like a stage persona and more like a reflection of reality.
That reality gives ‘Felony’ its deeper meaning. The record introduces an artist who has faced circumstances that could have ended his story, yet chose to turn survival into strength.
After surviving a near-fatal shooting, Timzy carried the experience forward, eventually making “Survival” more than a name it became a statement of resilience.
With ‘Felony’, he channels that perspective into music, laying the foundation for “Survival”, an EP that promises to explore the experiences, setbacks, and hope that have shaped his journey.
Rather than presenting struggle as something distant, the project brings listeners closer to the emotions behind it.
Timzy first began building his catalogue with “Gratitude” in 2022 before returning with releases including “Therapy”, “Somori”, “Non Stop”, and “Preacher”.
Each step has added another layer to his evolving story.
Now, ‘Felony’ feels like the beginning of something bigger: an unapologetic introduction to an artist who has been through the fire and continues to create from the other side.
