La Meme Gang’s Crusade 3 Previewed: What to Expect!

La Meme Gang Crusade

We knew the first Crusade was just the beginning of something great when fans stood in the rain to jam with La Meme Gang.

The ignition of a ride to success, fame, back to back hits and a test of oneness, Crusade has provided some extraordinary gatherings after the second edition, and it’s safe to say the Trilogy is going to be bigger and better, in the fields of a collective of artists, music critics, culture embraces, families and friends and most importantly the youth, everyone took part in what is now an immersive, collaborative movement than your average hip-hop concert. Based on the idea that a music concert should be an open experience, the concept is about events being a two-way process- where other artists are invited to be participants and not observers.

Crusade as a whole is a strong ethos pushing young and underground talent, thus, the event is built on a foundation of social progression, creativity, sonic energy, and openness, due to this, the event attracts rather delightful and socially happy music lovers, creating a hub for the hip-hop scene in Ghana. Upon arrival, it didn’t take long to notice I was in the middle of something special, the first striking feature is the atmosphere, every fan was filled with positivity and super gassed to see the gang perform, musically it felt like a dream concert, with a careful balance of striking performances from Kwesi Arthur, Ayat, b4bonah and King Promise; a line-up no one knew would blow up in just a matter of months, making the first crusade a birth of new generational spearheads for the Ghanaian Industry. Mainstream acts like Joey B, Magnom were present to offer their support, queens like Tsoobi, Tneeya were also in line to remind us just how shaped the music scene is forming.

Bermuda Gardens well-spaced location was enough to contain a debut sold-out show, fans from all races were present to witness the dawn of a culture. Weather-wise, it was negative, showers poured down the grounds but that didn’t move fans from exiting the premises, fans stood in the rain and foresaw every performance from the gang, building a platform for “La Members” and the gang. The first crusade was an introductory show, the second was an establishment, moved to wider grounds due to a huge fan base and set in the mood for Christmas, the show was louder this time, fan base had exceeded and security was tight though there was no dark event to dim this greatness.

There were familiar faces, Joey b, Kwesi Arthur, King Promise but with a more elevated career than the debut, La Meme took things to a new level and led the crowd through an electrifying unique experience, capping the show off with a freestyle and appreciation speech from R2bees Rapper, Paedae.

Both shows have elevated in a sense of fanbase and music experience, Crusade stands as a hallmark for discovery and an ever pushing-force for La Meme Gang and hip-hop lovers, an experience every urban music lover should have coming December 20th.
