Joey B cements his GOAT status as his surprise single “Green Tea” which features reigning VGMA rapper of the year Medikal causes a meltdown on social media hours after it’s release.
The self-acclaimed “Rap Messiah” who is gearing up to headline his first-ever concert in Ghana dubbed “Darryl and His Friends“ (set on 23rd November at the Crystal Park) took to his Twitter yesternight, asking his fans to check out his Soundcloud in 10 minutes for a surprise.
Joey B has over the years gained notoriety for experimenting with new hybrid sounds and samples. His cowboy-themed “Darryl EP” which was released early 2017 for instance, was the first time most of us ever heard a trap-country hybrid sound, which is now credited to Lil Nas X for his 2019 global smash single “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.
On “Green Tea” Darryl is back at his experimental best as he samples Chinese strings on a trap-heavy Drumvroll produced instrumental.
