Mr Eazi Accuses Bad Bunny of Stealing Joeboy's Song

Legal trouble looms at Latin Pop Megastar Bad Bunny, after being accused by Afrobeats heavyweight, and Empawa Africa label boss Mr Eazi of plagiarizing the song “Enséñame a Bailar,” off his recently released album.

So, the song Bad Bunny is being accused of stealing is Joeboy’s “Empty My pocket”, a song the Empawa Africa act released in collaboration with Lakizo Entertainment.

Mr Eazi in the early hours of Monday, 6th February 2023 called out Bad Bunny via a tweet that read:

“Yo @sanbenito you need to tell your lawyers to stop messing around and clear that Joeboy rip off on your album.

Mr Eazi went on to share the links to both songs with the caption:

Badbunny @sanbenito incase you are not sure what song I’m talking about… Ain’t no way you produced and sang an Afrobeat record lol

While Bad Bunny’s song “Enséñame a Bailar” was released in May 2022 as the thirteenth track of his most recent album “Un Verano Sin Ti“, Joeboy‘s “Empty My Pocket” was released a year earlier in June.

We listened to both recordings while doing research for this article, and I must say that both sound remarkably similar, from the vocal melodies, right down to the production.

Mr Eazi’s accusation has not yet received a public response from Bad Bunny. We’ll do well to keep you updated on this story’s latest developments.
