South African superstar Nasty C’s “Lost Files EP” is now available for streaming on Apple Music.
Last month, the South African rapper dished out a visual EP dubbed Lost Files as a way to entertain his fans and followers during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As you may already know, Lost Files is a compilation of unreleased and finished songs- songs that didn’t make it to his previously released albums.
In a recent interview with OkayAfrica, Nasty C spoke about the origin of the songs on Lost Files. This is what he had to say:
It’s a nice little teaser. Some are very old, “Forever” is 4/5 years old. They’re songs that didn’t make it onto certain projects, songs that ended up as just ideas, that I never really got the time to finish, or I didn’t really want to finish, because I didn’t feel like it. I have a lot of those in the vault. Sometimes it kind of hurts seeing myself move on and being so sure that I’m never going to put that song out even though I like it. So, we found a way to work around that.

Lost Files is a precursor to Nasty C’s soon to be released, very anticipated third studio album, Zulu Man With Some Power. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been a successful year for the 23-year-old rapper. He signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings, released the song and music video for The Cxdy produced “There They Go“, the debut single off Zulu Man With Some Power and just yesterday, he announced his debut movie role in Netflix’s 2nd African Original Series, “Blood & Water“.
