The visuals, shot between his house and eSwatini, remind us of a time when it was still possible to flex outside. Despite his current beef with The Big Hash, we don’t have to worry about J Molley.

DJ Juls ft. Aymos – Tembisa
It is another South African journey for Ghanaian producer DJ Juls! On this clearly amapiano-oriented track from his latest EP, he features rising star Aymos to sing about “Tembisa“, a township near Kempton Park (Gauteng – SA). Close to DJ Maphorisa, Aymos delivers smooth vocals that blend perfectly with the instrumental.
The Big Hash ft. Flame – How To Kill A Dead Body
“How To Kill A Dead Body” is a diss track towards J Molley, in a broader beef having started two weeks ago. If we appreciate the fact that this beef has been the occasion for both artists to drop salty tracks, we hope they can make it out for the sake of SA Hip Hop.
Robin Thirdfloor ft. Laliboi & ASAP Shembe – Gibela (Remix)
The Durban artist invited two of the most original rappers of the SA landscape: Laliboi and ASAP Shembe. “Gibela Remix” turns out to be a simplistic yet very complete track, being a mix of hip-hop and kwaito. The three rappers each bring their own style of rapping to this unique instrumental, making the remix very rich.
DJ Lag ft. Moonchild Sanelly – Uhuru Dis
“Gqom King” DJ Lag did what he is best at with “Uhuru Dis”: an explosive and simplistic instrumental, accompanied by powerful vocals sang by the notorious Moonchild Sanelly. The video is a must-see: realized by Chris Kets and set in Durban, the cradle of the genre, it was imagined as the very first Gqom musical and inspired by the classic Romeo & Juliet plot.
The Big Hash ft. Flvme – Fake Givenchy
The Big Hash, member of the collective innanetwav., just released a sophomore EP for us to wait until his upcoming album. Mainly produced by his close friend 808x, the project is a very cool set of 6 tracks, alternating between RnB and Rap. “Fake Givenchy” is an example of how the artist uses his vocals to create his very personal and intimate sound.
DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small – AmaBBW
It seems like the quarantine is an inspiring time for some. Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa a.k.a. the Scorpion King a.k.a. the Amapiano bosses just dropped their new project “Once Upon A Time In Lockdown”. The two producers only confirm what they are capable of, mastering chill Amapiano, smooth Afro-House as well as aggressive Gqom tracks. Our favourite? “AmaBBW”, a pure street banger featuring Mark Khoza and Kamo.
