The Grammy-nominated singer has undoubtedly advanced the African identity beyond our shores into the entire black life in the diaspora with his 15 tracked album oozing with traditionally rooted African pop sounds infused with diverse international genres. Onyeka (Baby) comes as the sixth song on the project, Burna Boy showers praises and compliments on Onyeka his baby, on the traditional afrobeat sound infused with jazz melody.
DJ Tunez ft Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, Omah Lay – PAMI
Starboy Entertainment’s Official Disc Jockey DJ Tunez puts together what seems to be the biggest collaboration of the year featuring Starboy Wizkid, Afropop Prince Adekunle Gold, and fast-rising raving star Omah Lay on a mid-tempo soft and sublime afrobeat tune titled Pami. The trio deliver their uniquely diverse trademark rhythms and melodies to create a masterpiece.
Fireboy DML – Tattoo
YBNL’s Gem, Fireboy releases his third single for the year to boost anticipation for his incoming music project titled ‘Apollo’, scheduled to be released on August 20th with massive features from international star D Smoke, veteran vocalist Wande Coal and label boss Olamide. Tattoo comes as the fourth song on his album, a sensual, soothing and soulful love song on a slow-paced afro-RnB beat.
Yemi Alade – True Love
Mama Africa, Yemi Alade serves us a brand new single after a sparkling feature on Beyonce’s Black Is King Visual Album. True Love comes as a second single off her forthcoming fifth studio album after Boyz. On this single, Yemi displays an aura of joy and festivity as she melodiously sings about how true love feels on this African tune blended with urban infusions.
BOJ ft Davido, Mr Eazi – Abracadabra
Nigerian Singer and Songwriter, BOJ releases his third single for the year with a five-star collaboration featuring industry heavyweights, DMW Boss Davido and Empawa Africa C.E.O Mr. Eazi. BOJ, known for his peculiar style and seductive vocals served it all on this mid-tempo afro-pop tune, altogether creating a groovy hit.
Tiwa Savage – Koroba
The Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage once again hits us with another royal tune. Koroba is a mellow up-tempo afro vibe where Tiwa displays her lyrical mastery using her sultry and soulful vocals. The ‘London’ produced beat is a skillful blend of afrobeat and RnB with a resonating vocal hook that sinks into your soul and clasps your mind.
Oxlade – DKT (Dis Kind Thing)
Talented Vocalist Oxlade keeps us abreast of his breathtaking vocals with a SoundCloud exclusive release titled DKT (Dis Kind Thing). DKT comes as a single following his highly successful E.P ‘OXYGENE’, a debut project released in March. The serenading melodist gives us an RnB vibe with soulful cadence blowing us away with words of love.
Peruzzi – Lagbaja
After embarking on a social media caesura, DMW Singer and Songwriter Peruzzi releases a brand new single titled Lagbaja. Lagbaja is a fast-paced afrobeat tune with highlife infusions where Peruzzi embarks on a story-telling process as he addresses controversies around him. Peruzzi serves us Lagbaja as an appetizer while we await his GAZA project.
Crayon – Do Me
Mavin Records Offshoot Crayon continues his weekly run of steady hits as he drops another impressive single titled ‘Do Me’. The Afropop Golden Boy sings about being overly protective, loyal and jealous to his lover based on past experiences, as his soothing vocals hover on the soft mid-tempo fascinating love ballad produced by label-mates Baby Fresh and London.
Cuppy – Karma (Ft. Stonebwoy)
As we continue to anticipate the release of her debut project “Original Copy” which is scheduled to be released on 21st of August, Nigerian Artiste and Celebrity Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy releases a fresh new exceptional single titled Karma, featuring Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy.
