Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter and rapper Mikayla Simpson, professionally known as Koffee, is out with new song and music video for “W” featuring Gunna.

“W” is Koffee’s debut release since her 2019 EP, Rapture, and her very recent Grammy Nomination. She got nominated for “Best Reggae Album” at the impending 2020 Grammy Awards. For a 19-year old, this is quite an impressive feat.

On her new song and video, she enlists Atlanta Rapper, Gunna. Produced by IzyBeats, “W” is a song encouraging people to focus more on their accomplishments and to give no power to failures. She entreats listeners to make every minute of their lives count and to be appreciative.
It follows the same theme as her break out hit “Toast”, also produced by IzyBeats.

The 4-minute video begins with Koffee seated attentively in a chapel, listening to a compelling and quite inspirational sermon. We later see the residents of Koffee’s community scurry for shelter as they are about to experience a heavy storm. We witness another level of “Making it rain” in the Matt Baron-directed music video.

We await Koffee’s collaborative work with The Barbados Babe, Rihanna as there are rumors of them working together.

We’ve been playing around with some stuff. I think something is coming in the near future, but for now, I can’t confirm it.
