Nigeria’s Adedamola Adefolahan better known as Fireboy DML is one of the most promising artists of his generation.
He sure did get our attention with his breakout hit single “Jealous”, a song that received massive airplay and reviews. He returns to the music scene with some fire visuals for his 2018 single, “King”.
One thing you’d notice and love about the singer is his Voice and lyrical ability, which is very evident on this XYZ produced song, making use of a blend of English and his local tongue, Yoruba.
The topic on King is a clear one: It is indeed a love story. We see Fireboy DML reassuring his lover, telling her he’s not giving up on her but won’t beg for her to return his love as he wants to be treated like a King.
TG Omori, as usual, was exceptional with the crisp visuals giving the viewers a story to follow while listening to this beautiful song.
