DRB LasGidi, Nigerian Alté originators, confirm debut album “Pioneers” will be released this April, preceded by a single.
DRB LasGidi, the Nigerian alternative music group, consisting of Boj, Teezee and Fresh L – has blossomed over the years.
First making an impression back in 2007, the alternative music group has managed to remain relevant in the cut-throat Nigerian music space for more than a decade now, earning the accolade as originators of present-day Nigerian alté culture.
Although DRB LasGidi can brag of an impressive music catalog (even churning out a compilation release dubbed “DRB10” back in 2018), their debut album has been more than ten years in the making.
Having earlier announced 2020 as an album year, members of the group took to social media to confirm April as the month of the album release, which will be preceded by a single drop.
Dubbed “Pioneers”, it can be inferred the album is intended to eulogize their invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s now buzzing alternative music scene.
