Nigerian Afro/dancehall artist and House Records Group CEO Xucceedo turns his attention to Akwa Ibom with ‘Arise’, an Afrobeats-driven record that uses music to spotlight the state’s progress, culture and potential.
Born and raised in Lagos, Success Albert, known as Xucceedo, has spent more than 16 years building his musical journey.
From “Built On Self Success (B.O.S.S)” and “The Light” to “The Journey”, “Son Of Grace” and “Big Ceedo Vibez”, his catalogue reflects an artist who has continued to evolve while keeping his audience close.
Produced in collaboration with Moskeyz, ‘Arise’ takes a different route.
Rather than centering solely on personal experiences, Xucceedo uses the record as a communications piece focused on Akwa Ibom.
Its lyrics highlight government projects, local businesses, tourist attractions and development initiatives, while pointing listeners toward the state’s investment and tourism possibilities.
But there is more to the song than development talk.
At its core, ‘Arise’ also celebrates the Ibibio people, bringing their cultural heritage and identity into a wider conversation about the region.
The result is a record built around themes of progress, unity and opportunity, with Xucceedo using his music as a platform to tell a distinctly Akwa Ibom story.
With ‘Arise’, the HRG boss continues to expand what his music can represent this time putting a place, its people and its ambitions at the centre of the conversation.
