Swiss-Nigerian Songstress Coco Benson teams up with Nigerian producer Shizzi for new Afrohouse Song ‘Majesty’.
Majesty, which was written by Coco, Shizzi and Park Ighile is the much-anticipated comeback single from Coco. It is a song from her forthcoming debut EP dubbed Here We Go Again which will be executive produced by Shizzi. Shizzi has had a great career thus far. He’s worked with heavyweights such as Beyonce, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Chris Brown and Meek Mill among many other gifted musicians. Parker Ighile has also written and worked on songs for Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
On a lush Shizzi produced afrohouse instrumental, Coco lays her sonorous vocals. It’s a song that reminds women to know their worth, it highlights how women ought to treated as queens. Majesty is the perfect dancefloor filler and soundtrack for the upcoming sun-kissed summer and festival season. The royal-themed Mickey Johnson-directed music video which was shot in Accra, Ghana brings the song to life as it showcases the beauty and grace of the African woman.
Coco who was born in Michigan was raised in Zurich, Switzerland is the granddaughter of Nigerian highlife legend Bobby Benson. Currently residing in Atlanta, she began her professional music career in 2014 with a slew of hit songs ‘They Call Me Coco’ and a modern reworking of her grandfather’s breakthrough hit ‘Taxi Driver’, which helped her gain a lot of positive media attention. Coco took a break from music to focus on her family in 2015. She is back to continue making an impact with what she does best.

Women do it all, women are the backbone to a lot of great things, and this track pays homage to women and speaks to empowering women. I wanted to create a song that every woman or girl could relate to, we are all ‘Majesty’ to someone and it’s something to embrace. This track has my two favorite elements – the house and soulful music vibes, and once Shizzi added his magic finger touches and some amapiano sensibilities, we knew this song would turn out to be a timeless record.
