Burna Boy Confirms a Collaboration With Aya Nakamura

Burna Boy and Aya Nakamura

Burna Boy‘s been on quite the rollercoaster, tearing up stages left and right during his epic Love, Damini tour. He’s finally taken a breather, back home in Nigeria chilling with his crew. Just recently, he hopped on his Instagram Live to connect with his fans. During this live stream, Burna dropped some truth bombs, spilled some tea, and even confirmed a mind-blowing collab!

Burna spilled the ultimate tea by confirming that Aya Nakamura is most likely gonna be featured on his upcoming album. When asked about the French artiste’s collab, Burna simply said, “Yeah, that one dey.” And ever since that moment, the internet’s been losing its mind, counting down the seconds ’til this epic banger drops.

Aya Nakamura, the French superstar of Malian descent, and Burna Boy, the undeniable African Giant – just imagine the sonic explosion this collab will create! Sure, Burna’s been down this road before, teaming up with Dadju on the fire 2020-released track “Donne-moi l’accord”. This Aya Nakamura masterpiece is gonna take the francophone-infused magic to a whole new level!

It’s worth noting that Burna Boy and Aya Nakamura have been nominated for Best International Act three times at the BET awards, in 2019, 2021, and 2023. Burna had a clean sweep on these occasions, taking home all three awards.

The two superstar artistes have crossed paths a few times recently. They were spotted earlier this year at the Kenzo show in Paris, and they also performed at Afronation in Portugal in June, where they were photographed talking and smiling backstage.
