22-year-old Southern Californian artiste Alexa Cappelli shares the enthralling new song “Body Language”.
According to the singer/songwriter, the song which is taken from her second EP titled “Confused @ 22”, is about getting to know someone in every possible way except for in person.
It could be a long-distance fling, or a new someone you meet online. They call and say all the right things, but in the heat of the spark, you remember they don’t actually know the real you. This song is a fun take on the idea to not judge a book by its cover or even the preface for that matter. Good intentions are important for romantic relationships, but so is having a safe, accepting, and fun physical presence. How can you know when you haven’t spent much time in the same room?

Alexa began taking voice lessons at the early age of 7. She slowly built confidence through performances and musical theater productions throughout her early teen years. In Orange County School of The Arts (OCSA) where she attended high school, she developed an interest in writing and performing her own songs. During her senior year, she identified her purpose as an artiste. In 2018, she was a contestant of the 14th season of the hit American singing reality competition television series ‘The Voice’ and was a member of Kelly Clarkson’s Team.
Her debut project “The Colors That Make You” which she co-wrote with producer Aaron Aiken was released in August 2019. She gained a little popularity on the social media platform TikTok with her singles “Forbidden” and “Say Something”. Alexa’s main aim for making music is to help bring people together and she plans to keep that going by putting out more music that speaks truth through lyrics and love through melodies.
Created by an artiste with a knack for storytelling, “Body Language” is an artistic expression of the intricacies of love and wanting more out of a budding romance. There is a lot one can hide or withhold from his/her love interest especially during the early stages of a relationship when it is all rosy and that’s what Alexa talks about on the Zeph Park produced song.
