Gyakie Headies

Talented Ghanaian songstress, Jackeline Acheampong, widely known as Gyakie has earned a nomination in Nigeria’s major annual music awards show of the year, The Headies.

The nominations, announced yesterday May 24, 2022, mentions Gyakie in the Best West African Artiste of the Year category. The “Forever” hitmaker was nominated alongside some top African musicians like Angelique Kidjo from Benin, Aya Nakamura from Mali, Nelson Freitas from Cape Verde, and Ghana’s own, Kidi and Amaarae. Ghana’s Nektunez also secured 2 nominations with ‘Ameno Amapiano’ remix in the Best Street Hop Artiste and the Headies Viewer’s Choice categories.

This category is for artistes of West African descent with the most outstanding achievements and impacts across Africa in the year under review and Gyakie’s consistency of success from 2020, through 2021 and into 2022 is nothing short of incredible.
