3 South Africans Bag Wins at Clout Africa Awards

Clout Africa, a Nigerian music media company held virtual music awards last week and three South African-based artists namely: DBN Gogo, Msaki and Blxckie won awards in various categories.

Although the winners were decided by popular vote from the general public, DBN Gogo won the “DJ of the Year“, whilst Msaki and Blxckie won the “Alternative Album and “Songwriter of the Year” respectively.

DBN Gogo, born “Mandisa Radebe” accepted the award with a subtle response after garnering in excess of 88% of total votes from the voting public.

Sihle Sithole, commonly known as Blxckie, was nominated with five other artists, and came out on top and simply reacted with “lit” which prompted reactions from his endearing fans on Twitter.

Msaki accepted the award for “Best Alternative album” whilst sharing the win with her family on social media, saying:

“…we won fam.”

The silky South African composer and singer-songwriter who goes by “Asanda Lusaneni Mvana” has said she looks forward to going on tour with American hip hop duo, Earthgang later this year in a separate post on Instagram.
