Nigeria’s Raytheboffin Shares New Song “Don’t Kiss and Tell”

Raytheboffin

Raytheboffin is a Nigerian producer experimenting with distinctive sounds to build his musical universe to take his listeners on a journey.

Ray’s interest in music was inspired by his music teacher’s offer to teach him the guitar. This helped arouse his musical interest leading him to learn more about music production and in time, spending every single day in the music studio before leaving to pursue higher education in Ukraine.

In 2018 Ray decided to channel his attention back into music, educating himself on music production and audio engineering. Which opened him up to experimenting and generating a unique sound for himself.

In the process of his music and self-discovery, Ray met Iverivers which led to the creation of Riverays. The duo released their first project titled ‘Riverays’ in 2019. This project gathered remarkable reception from around the world. This acceptance from fans and diverse listeners powered the creation of more projects which included jointly working with Yinoluu on the Petal Scents EP.

Ray has worked with up-and-coming artists like 3kene, Jess ETA and Julrity finding new and refreshing sounds.

‘Don’t Kiss and Tell’ is Raytheboffin’s debut single, a meditative alté joint featuring Nigerian vocalist Julrity and follows up his recent feature with Joel Prodigee on ‘Fist Up’. It is also the first single off Ray’s forthcoming debut EP on London and Johannesburg-based record label Outer South, titled ‘Run Boy, Run’. Ray describes the project as a depiction of his journey so far and his reason to keep ongoing.

Ray finds it important that those who contribute to his work are artistes that can share and understand his vision; this is mainly why most collaborations were with artists whom he had a good relationship with.
