Nigerian superstar rapper and label executive Olamide releases his new single, ‘Hate Me’ featuring fellow Nigerian pioneer, Wande Coal.
On production duties, Olamide has enlisted long-term collaborator, 19-year-old P.Priime who previously produced 7 out of the 12 tracks on Olamide’s award-winning album ‘Carpe Diem’. Directed by TG Omori and set in space, the intergalactic video sees Olamide and Wande on a futuristic spaceship surrounded by astronauts and dancers bursting with energy and style. ‘Hate Me’ is a feel-good anthem, with the uptempo production providing the perfect foundation for both artists to showcase their infectious swagger.
Olamide is a renowned veteran in the global music scene and has helped shape the landscape of Nigerian street music since his arrival in 2011. The multi-dimensional artist is responsible for some of the biggest collaborations to come out of Africa in the last few years including; ‘Infinity’ featuring Omah Lay, ‘Loading’ featuring Bad Boy Timz and most recently ‘See Level’ featuring the UK’s Backroad Gee.
Head honcho at YBNL Nation, Olamide’s label is home to Fireboy DML and Adekunle Gold amongst others. His 6th album ‘The Glory’ was No.1 in Billboard’s World Album Chart and he has won numerous accolades over the years including; Best Rap Album and Album of the year at the AFRIMA awards. Following the success of his 12th studio album, ‘UY Scuti’ which dropped last year, Olamide continues to receive international acclaim and consistently remains relevant within the burgeoning Nigerian industry and beyond. 12 studio albums and counting is no small feat and he continues to deliver time and time again.
