South African singer-songwriter, Zoë Modiga, has been highlighted on Spotify’s Sounds of Africa campaign for this year’s Africa Day.
During the campaign, the DSP threw the spotlight on six African artistes and podcasters to celebrate their voices and showcase their craft.
The KwaZulu-Natal native was one of 6 artistes chosen for this. The others include Kenya’s Chris Kaiga and Nikita Kering’, Nigeria’s Ladipoe and Preyé, and South Africa’s Nomfundo Moh.
Speaking to For the Record, she said, “Africa Day to me is such a symbolic reminder for us to reconnect with who we are as Africans and the African diaspora.” “Thematically, my music seeks to celebrate the human story, the Black experience, and the African glory that we are“, she reiterated.
