Nigerian music sensation Tems has recorded her first ever entry as a solo artiste on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her hit song ‘Free Mind.’
Free Mind, a popular single off Tems’ 2020 7-track EP, ‘For Broken Ears’, made its debut at number 90.
This is the singer’s fourth appearance on the chart following appearances with WizKid on the remix of the colossal hit record, ‘Essence’ featuring Justin Beiber which peaked at number 9, Drake’s ‘Fountain’ which peaked at number 26 and Future’s ‘Wait For You’ which has spent 12 weeks on the charts and is currently at the number 5 position.
Tems has had a successful 2022 thus far. She joins WizKid as the only African artistes with four Billboard Hot 100 entries and was recently credited as a songwriter on Beyoncé’s upcoming album, ‘Renaissance’. Also, she and Ghanaian singer Amaarae were featured on The ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Prologue Soundtrack.
