South African singer-songwriter, Simphiwe Dana, will be performing at the State Theatre in Pretoria later today.
The show dubbed, “Isipaji sika Simphiwe Dana“, will see an outpouring of her expanding musical catalog.
Having spent two decades on the music scene, the “Zandisile” ace looks to perform songs that hitherto, haven’t seen the stage.
During a presser, she explained saying, “Isipaji means your handbag as a lady. “And it speaks to my creative bag, my repertoire. And I’m foraging through that repertoire and finding those songs that I always felt were too challenging to do live and challenging myself to do them.”
Her fans can expect to experience never-before-seen performances of songs from her maiden album. With songs like, “Chula Ukunyathela“, Best Newcomer and Best Jazz Vocal Album winner (SAMA 2004) is sure to bring her hidden goodies to light.
