Sarkodie claps back at Asem & Ball J with Sub-Zero diss freestyle.

Sarkodie and Asem‘s decade-long rivalry seems to have finally hit the fan. Both rappers made an entry on the scene around the same time. Asem with game-changer “Gimme Blow” and Sarkodie with hit single “Baby” along with a slew of mixtape freestyles.

Being two of the best new entrants and belonging to polarising factions, Asem (Lynx Entertainment – Accra) and Sarkodie (Duncwills Entertainment – Tema), the two lyricists were always destined to face off. Aside from Subliminals aimed at each other’s camps, nothing much resulted from that friction.

Check out four times Asem threw shots at the Tema Camp below:

Fast forward Sarkodie is the most decorated rapper in Africa and Asem has fallen off into obscurity. The rivalry was however rekindled after an Instagram #BehindDaHitz battle between Killbeatz (Sarkodie – Tema Camp) and Richie (Asem – Lynx Entertainment Camp) got Twitter fans feeling nostalgic and revisiting highlights from that era.

Sarkodie dropped a freestyle video on Twitter, Sunday 7 pm – where he threw some subliminal shots at his ‘adversaries’.

The war of words, however, kicked-off proper when Asem also dropped a freestyle that same evening at 11 pm, video name-dropping Sarkodie.

Sarkodie clapped back Monday evening with a freestyle video dubbed: “Sub Zero”. Rapper and record producer Ball J who also threw shots at Sarkodie got served.
