SA Electro-pop artiste Moonchild Sanelly has released ‘Cute’, a new single which features Leicester-based female rapper Trillary Banks.
This song is the second successive release, after ‘Strip Club’, which featured British grime artist, Ghetts two months ago. These songs are a series of releases off her upcoming album Phases, which will be made public on June 10th.
Paying homage to the grace and unflinching strength of women. “We can be cute, so our power might look unthreatening, but don’t be fooled, we’re powerful”, she reiterated.
Just like the contrasting vibes the song gives off, the album in its entirety offers a diversity in production that consists of amapiano, grime, house music, and R&B, with an ever-present gqom element. Her genre-bending attributes as an artiste and eclectic personality have been well documented in songs like “Over You,”Strip Club”, among others.
Speaking on the collaboration, Trillary Banks said, “Recording the track was a cool, fun experience. I love the Two Inch Punch production. Meeting Moon in person was also great. We were able to go to a gig and vibe at the studio“.
The album which has coincided with her expected showcase at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton on the 12th and 13th May will be released under Transgressive Records and the Gallo Record Company.
