Mellow & Sleazy are the New Cover Stars for Apple Music’s Isgubhu

Mellow & Sleazy

Following the release of their second EP “Midnight In Sunnyside”, South African amapiano duo Mellow & Sleazy, has been outdoored as cover artistes for Isgubhu on Apple Music.

Isgubhu – which is a Zulu word meaning “beat” – often describes a banging track- a consistent mix of amapiano, gqom, Afro-house, kwaito, and electronic music.

We are honored to be chosen for the cover of Apple Music’s Isgubhu playlist for May. We love making music that gets people moving and makes them almost become carefree.” They said, “We hope everyone in Africa and the world enjoys it.

Besides their nine-track project’s release in spatial audio, the duo has also created an exclusive Isgubhu playlist in honor of the burgeoning electro scene in South Africa. “This playlist features some of our favorite South African dance songs that keep everyone on their feet. We share these special songs with the rest of Africa, pushing piano,” they added.

The single “Chipi Ke Chipi”, is the headline track for “Midnight In Sunnyside” – a stunning EP that features top stars such as Nkosazana Daughter, M.J., Sizwe Alakine Young Stunna and the late Mpura.
