Nigerian Rapper Ladipoe drops the highly-anticipated video for ‘Afro Jigga’ featuring Rema.
Taken off his EP, ‘Providence’, we see Poe in his element showcasing his debonair character across scenes reflecting avant-garde decor and a club-ready ambiance. Joined by the linchpin of Afro-rave and fellow Mavin label mate, Rema, the video emulates the fiery energy and confidence of the track, directed by frequent collaborators Kewa Oni and Seun Opabisi. The coming together of two of Nigeria’s exciting acts is a special moment for both fanbases and the music scene as a whole.
Since releasing his 6-track EP ‘Providence’ back in November 2021, Ladipoe’s stock has gone from strength to strength, supporting Fireboy DML on his Apollo US Tour and guest-judging Nigeria’s acclaimed Hennessy VS Class. Both Ladipoe and Rema made an appearance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, representing Mavin Records. He has become a sought-after performer off the back of engaging shows in his native and beyond.
Since joining the Mavin stronghold in 2017, Ladipoe’s soundscape has continued to evolve, showcasing versatility and flair as a rapper renowned for challenging typical perceptions of African artistry. Heralded for his lyricism, adept songwriting and unmatched energy, Ladipoe’s music is recognized by fans – whom he calls lifelines – for his witty one-liners, depth and delivery.
After his breakthrough single, ‘Feeling’ spread across the globe and broke numerous records, Ladipoe received his first BET Nomination for Best International Flow verifying his name on a wider scale. Continuing to stand out in the global rap scene, last year he received co-signs from US Rap royalty Jay-Z and Kid Cudi. Arriving just in time for summer, ‘Afro Jigga’ reinstates his name in preparation for another incredible year ahead.
