Nigeria’s Khaid Shares Spirited Visuals For “SKI”

Khaid

Fast-rising 17-year-old musician, Khaid, showcases his versatility in his new single “SKI”.

“SKI” is the definition of Khaid as a young Afro-Trap star, describing what it’s like coming from the slums; the peer pressure and wrong choices, but staying true despite all the challenges. The Nigerian born-and-Lagos-State-based upstart quickly shifts from comparing his vocals with Adele to the imagery of shooting like Mad Max in the same melodic breath.

The accompanying visual suitably captures the essence of the streets, with Khaid showcasing his charisma amongst the backdrops of a racing track and basketball court with his crew. It’s this style of dynamic appearances and influences that are quickly positioning him as a breakout star, from freestyling on the streets of Lagos as an early teen to being discovered and signed by famous Nigerian tastemaker Sydney Talker to his brand new label — Neville Records.

Khaid Ski

Inspired by Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B, Khaid’s sound lands on a singular Afro-trap aesthetic, blending flows reminiscent of Roddy Rich and Polo G with his native tongue of Yoruba into artistry with genuine global appeal. His debut single With You immediately caught fire in Nigeria and beyond, notching him over 16.5 million streams across DSPs and finding his social media erupting with over 197k Instagram followers in the process.
