French-Cameroonian artiste James BKS outdoors music video for new song ‘Kusema’.
The producer cum rapper has had an amazing career thus far. He has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Booba, Little Simz and many other talented musicians. Now turned rapper, James BK further explores his artistic side with new song titled ‘Kusema’.
On, Kumesa, James BKS fuses Hip-hop drums with Swahili chants and Bikutsi rhythms (traditional dance and rhythms from his home country Cameroon) to create a genre he’s named “The New World Music”.
James intends to make himself heard on this song and this is apparent even with the title of the song. Kusema is a Swahili word that means “to express“. After millions of streams on his 3 previous singles ‘New Breed‘, ‘No Unga Bunga‘ and ‘Kwele‘, the beloved musician, who is followed by Idris Elba, Angelique Kidjo, Yemi Alade and Q-Tip, is ready to announce his debut forthcoming album ‘Wolves of Africa‘ set for release this fall under his record label Grown Kid.
The body of work is tipped to be an eclectic project that brings together legends and rising stars of the urban and Afro scene who share in his vision. It will include collaborations with his late biological father Manu Dibango and Yemi Alade, Davido, Oxlade, Royce 5’9, Little Simz, Q-Tip and Mila J. He will reveal more on this incredible first album in “BKS”, a documentary series he plans on releasing in the lead up to the album’s release.
