South African rapper and social advocacy champion, Gigi Lamayne recently shared her opinions on suicide prevention.
This came after she revealed that one of her colleagues from college had just taken his life days ago.
In a Twitter post, Gigi Lamayne said:
“Woke up to news that one of my university mates took his life last night. A motivational speaker and writer. It don’t make sense… The new pandemic is suicide… a silent genocide… lurking in the struggles of the youth. Slowly emerging … the fire is becoming uncontrollable“
In a related tweet, the ‘Mashonisa‘ hitmaker threw her weight behind the ‘SILAPHA Wellness Intervention Programme‘ – a platform for South African Cultural and Creative Industry Practitioners to access assistance and professional services for dealing with matters related to lifestyle management, financial management, mental health management, substance abuse management and legal advice.
