Born Jereh Jallow, multiple award-winning Gambian artist, Jizzle, hints an upcoming collaboration with Ghana’s Kwesi Arthur.
Jizzle is undoubtedly Gambian music’s man of the moment, cementing his status after walking out of the prestigious Whasahalat Music Awards with 5 awards, the most wins of the night.
Currently a household name in his native The Gambia, the versatile act looks to spread his wings across the West African sub-region and beyond. In an interview with OkayAfrica, Jizzle expressed his desire for the rest of world to pay attention to Gambian music.
The “Gang Gang” hitmaker’s first step at spreading his wings was the release of the well-received “Scorpion: Vol 1” EP which features burgeoning Nigerian acts Oxlade and Idyl. The 6-track project a houses a wide array of urban music genres ranging from contemporary Gambian sounds, afrobeat, dancehall and hiphop.

A collaboration with one of the leaders of Ghana’s new school scene Kwesi Arthur is apparently his next step at penetrating new West African terrains. Jizzle took to Twitter to announce an upcoming collaboration stating: “Me and my brother from Ghana🇬🇭@KWESIARTHUR_ got something for the culture 🇬🇲🇬🇭.”
