DJ Switch seems to have taken advantage of the saying: the early bird catches the worm. He is out with another rap record “Son Of The Soil” which features the Skhanda God, K.O and Kaapstad’s very own YoungstaCPT.
K.O takes the first verse in the trap/boom-bap inspired beat using his witty lyricism to touch on how his craft is all about uplifting Africa and talking about his impact, how you can never squash his skills and reputation.
YoungstaCPT then comes in and undoubtedly puts the Cape on the map once again by touching on some of the classic shows he grew up watching like Yizo Yizo and Soul Buddies and clarifying he’s the colored Chihuahua of our Black Panther acknowledging the movie’s impact.
The Switch Up is known about bringing together MCs who have original sounds and showing the public that in an SA Hip Hop competitive space we actually have rappers who completely sound different from each other showing our diversity.
