After being away from the music scene for a while and working endlessly on different music projects Declan Jero, the Lagos-born Afro-soul act makes his comeback with a three-track release titled “Calypso”.
Infused with soulful harmonies and sounds laced with afrobeats, “Calypso” sees Declan Jero reinforce his position as the genre’s ladies’ man, serenading them with mawkish lyricism and infectious melodies, with guest contributions from Laime and Ceeza Milli.
The project opens with “Call On Me” and we witness Declan Jero and Laime team up to deliver an effortless love ballad. On “9pm”, Declan Jero is filled with enthusiasm and passion with lyrics like “Falling falling for you, oh I’ve been calling calling on you and I‘ve been longing longing for you”. He collaborated with Ceeza Milli to close the track with “Abena”, an African beauty queen he is making promises to and showering with praises.
