Crayon employs viral hype man, Toby Shang and the production of veteran beatmaker, Masterkraft to create his latest single- a street banger replete with witty lines, vocal finesse and a melody for the festive season.
Excuse Me is Crayon cruising into the end of the year on a high note- both literally and figuratively. The song celebrates the exuberance of youth and the contagious energy of a good party.
It’s the year of the hype men and credits to the Mavin act for bringing Toby Shang and his brilliant brand of hype notoriety on board for this one. The duo combine effortlessly to cook up an amapiano record that adds another colour to the ever vibrant sounds of Afrobeats Street Pop.
On Excuse Me, Crayon is unbothered and in top form as he serenades life, love and women. The lines are catchy and the tempo is upbeat. Masterkraft’s ability was never in doubt and on this record, he delivers an amapiano-laced backdrop on which Crayon’s vocals and Toby Shang’s slangs float effortlessly.
Excuse me is Crayon’s first single on the back of his critically acclaimed sophomore project; the Twelve AM EP. On the single, Crayon comments; “This record is special to me because it captures the state of mind of my generation-Gen Z, the stubborn generation. We are all about that young, wild and free lifestyle – to live our lives as freely as we choose while indulging our guilty pleasures. Big shoutout to Toby Shang, bringing his life of the party vibes to this record”
