Nigerian rapper Cheque openly expressed his discontentment with this year’s Headies nominations after being left out in the Hip-Hop category.
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, organizers of the annual Headies Awards released the full list of nominees for the 15th edition which will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, in Atlanta, USA.
This year’s nominations saw the likes of Portable, Magixx, Ugoccie, Fave, Oxlade, Ayra Starr, Ruger, Fireboy DML, among other talented artists grabbing nominations in various categories.
Tweeting about this, he said:
“Another year and the HEAdIES fails to recognize my music in the Rap category, while melodic rappers like Durk and Roddy are idolized in the rap scene worldwide That’s why HiPhop has remained Stagnant HERE but It’s Calm I will still be dropping HiTs even if I don’t get my Flowers”.
The ‘Zoom’ hit-maker believes his debut album, ‘Bravo’, should have earned him a nomination for this year’s Headies.
