Busiswa among star-studded list at the Youtube Africa Day Concert

South African songwriter and poet, Busiswa Gqulu, is set to perform at this year’s Youtube Africa Day Concert.

The event which takes place today is the third edition that seeks to showcase Africa’s shining stars making their mark around the globe.

Other artists from around the continent include D’banj, Ckay, Davido, Yemi Alade, Mayorkun and Reekado Banks, all from Nigeria. Sierra Leonean recording artist Drizilik, Tanzanian singer, Zuchu and Congolese Innoss’B make up the star-studded list of performers tonight. Kamo Mphela joins Busiswa to complete the cast from Mzansi.

YouTube Managing Director of Emerging Markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Alex Okosi said:

YouTube as a platform has been a mainline for connecting African artists to people all around the world and the Africa Day Concert is an opportunity to reaffirm YouTube’s support for African artists as they showcase the vibrant sounds and culture that makes Africa truly unique.

The concert, to be hosted by Idris Elba, will be streamed on Youtube starting at 7 pm (CAT).
