Nigeria’s Burna Boy has set a new record by being the first African artiste to hit over 200 million streams on Spotify with his album “African Giant”.
The critically acclaimed ‘African Giant’ is Burna Boy’s fourth body of work, and was officially released on July 26, 2019, under several partnerships; Spaceship Entertainment, Bad Habit, Atlantic Records and Warner Music imprints.
The album won Burna Boy several awards and was also nominated Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards where he lost out to Angelique Kidjo.
The album was predominantly produced by elite Nigerian music producer, Kel P, and spotted features from top-flight music acts, the likes of Zlatan, Jorja Smith, Jeremih, Serani, M.anifest, Damian Marley, Angelique Kidjo, Future and YG.
Burna Boy in a recent Q&A with his fans on microblogging site Twitter disclosed that he intends to release a new album dubbed “Twice As Tall” in July this here. We can only anticipate the records this new album will shatter.
