Upon finalizing what is now the British record deal from Brighton on Monday, August 14, the West London club promptly utilized their social media platforms to announce their latest signing with a touching video that also featured the Ecuadorian football star’s mother.

The backdrop of this announcement was marked by the resonating beats of the viral track “Finesse”, a collaborative creation by Nigerian artists Pheelz and BNXN. The song embodies the essence of going all out to attain one’s desires, regardless of the obstacles encountered. In this context, it serves as a fitting reflection of Chelsea’s determined efforts to thwart a last-minute takeover attempt by Liverpool.

The beautiful relationship between football and Afrobeats appears to be going from strength to strength. Recently, the track “Declan Rice” by ODUMODUBLVCK made a significant impact in football circles, with English midfielder Declan Rice personally endorsing the song and publicly appearing alongside the emerging Nigerian rapper. Capitalizing on the excitement, Arsenal seized the moment by unveiling their record-breaking £100 million signing of the English International, accompanied by ODUMODUBLVCK’s song in their announcement video.

Moreover, making an even greater impact, Afrobeats icons Davido and Burna Boy graced the stages of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Champions League finals in Istanbul, respectively. The fusion of Afrobeats and sports not only endures but mesmerizes a worldwide audience.

These collaborative ventures exemplify Afrobeats’ expansive influence, firmly establishing it as a genre that deeply resonates across diverse global audiences.
