Legendary Nigerian rapper M.I Abaga is set to release his seventh album and the potential tracklist has been disclosed with Nas as a featured artiste.
The rapper recently changed his stage name from M.I Abaga to ‘The Guy’, as a build-up to his forthcoming album titled ‘The Guy‘. After weeks of anticipation, he finally released the lead single which is also titled ‘The Guy‘ today, July 22, 2022.
In a now rectified error, the potential artistes to be featured on the 12-track project surfaced on the internet, specifically on Apple Music with names like Nas, Olamide, Jesse Jagz, Wande Coal, Ice Prince, Duncan Mighty, BNXN (fka Buju) listed as featured artistes.
Nas’ appearance on the album comes as a surprise to music fans as it has been reported that M.I Abaga sued the American rapper back in 2013 regarding a collaboration. According to Premium Times, although Nas did deliver a verse, the lawsuit stated that the verse in question did not have any of the topics or name-drops the two parties had agreed on. Nas’ verse was supposed to have words like M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and speak on the struggles of Africans and African Americans.
We are looking forward to this project especially the Nas collaboration because these two are very talented lyricists and also because it features one of Nigeria’s most adored rappers, Olamide. We are also eager to know what the concept of the song would be.
