From scoring a global anthem to collaborating with top foreign artistes and shutting down shows and concerts with several awards and recognitions to his name.

With a catalog packed with songs that explored variants of themes ranging from love, pain, loneliness, fame, money, and hedonism. It’s safe to say that Fireboy’s versatility is unmatched and coupled with the fact that the dreadlock-sporting young man knows how to tell stories with his songs.

In this article, we curated some of Fireboy DML’s songs that have stood the test of time, had an impact on pop culture, and dominated the charts.

1. Peru

Unless good music is prohibited where you stay in the world, you must, without a doubt, have listened to the fantastic melodious bop that is ‘Peru’ by Fireboy DML. There’s a high level of braggadocio in this song as Fireboy vaunts his greatness as someone who is in high demand ‘’Won Ni won Wami, won ni wan wami, I’m in San Francisco Jamming’. The song became a global anthem and also got remixed with Ed Sheeran which further catalyzed the sonic landscape of the song.

2. Jealous

What is Fireboy DML’s catalog without Jealousy, his first hit placed him as one of the new faces of an evolving music scene in 2019. One of the pre-released songs off the LTG album that will get the party groovy. It’s perfectly scripted for people in love. It’s catchy, laced with honeyed vocals and the beat will get you on the dance floor. If you are in love or planning to be, this particular song should top your playlist.

3. Bandana Ft. Asake

Fireboy DML teams up with his label mate, Asake on this masterpiece, and became an instant hit. This is where Fireboy detached himself from the rumors of him smoking while bragging that music chose him. “Music chose me, just know this and know peace” he sings. The upbeat tunes gave the song the full energy it needed and Asake’s hook turned it into a vibrant tune. Fireboy created magic with this song.

4. Scatter

This is one of the standout tracks off Fireboy DML’s “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps” debut album. It is ultra-groovy and catchy. It is a party starter song that will make you blur morals on the dance floor. Even if you’re hesitant to dance, you will find it difficult to resist the infectious beat.

5. Vibration

Vibration is a full Afrobeat song with every element of Afro beats that has a groovy vibration of beats. It’s the type of songwriting and instrumentation that can get you lost in the music. A total abdication of free will to a vibration.

6. Southy Love

There’s so much energy in this collaborative song with Peruzzi. It’s almost like the record was designed to drag you to the front of an open party where you gyrate to the log drums of the Amapiano. This is one of the songs Fireboy DML delivers perfectly and flows fluidly on a high-tempo beat.

7. Spell Ft. Wande Coal

There is no fault in this song. It is one of those perfect collaboration records. The two music geniuses, with similar sonic patterns and vocals, did not let the listener down. It’s an Afro-house-tinged track, and Wande Coal’s contribution spotlighted the song. Everything about the production and songwriting of this song is spot on.

8. Champion

As one of the perfect inspirational songs off his sophomore album, ‘Apollo’, Fireboy DML brought his fire by recruiting D Smoke for more fireworks to inspire and get you in your mood. It’s the intro of the album and whenever you are feeling down or low, this song is surely going to arouse your mood.

9. Playboy

This track is a bop! His hedonism shines brightly on this track as he proves that he’s a certified playboy who is not in for any lovey-dovey or whatnot in a relationship. The melodic keys and captivation of this song give it life. Fireboy DML delivers a smooth verse and takes the beat to a slaughterhouse. It’s a pure sweet jam that deserves a spot on your playlist.

10. Airplane Mode

There are no Fireboy top songs lists that this record won’t be a part of. It’s one of the songs on the sophomore album with the most creative and authentic songwriting. He’s in a somber mood here. He welcomes listeners into his reality – of wanting to give up and the pressure to just run away to a safe place. If you are a huge fan of true lyrics and calm, soothing music, ‘Airplane Mode‘ is the track made for you.
