Sofie Explores The Electrifying Feeling Of New Love On “Blur”

Sofie Blur

Sofie, the multinational singer-songwriter of Ghanaian, German, and American descent explores the experience of a budding romance on the newly released “Blur”.

The eccentric singer-songwriter released her debut self-titled EP in November 2016, and her sophomore EP “Lightwaves” in May 2019, with both projects interspersed with a host of impactful single releases. “Blur” is Sofie’s debut release of the calendar year following the 2021 single “You Don’t Stop”.

Recently graduating from the Berklee College of Music, Sofie plays the acoustic and electric guitar and a little piano. She is however not just a musician, but an advocate who uses her voice to create awareness about pertinent societal issues and injustices, and to inspire positive change.

On “Blur”, however, Sofie gets all sentimental zooming in on the electrifying feeling of new love. The record is a smooth and happy R&B bop with a dash of Afro-pop sensibilities. Sofie blesses our ears with her warm, silky vocals layered over the bouncy but chill dynamics of the Carter Pankow-calibrated production.
