Middlesbrough-based singer/songwriter Sisi starts the year with new afro-infused pop song ‘Next Call’.
The HilaBoi-produced single is a song about moving on after a bad breakup. Although on the topic of heartbreak, it doesn’t dwell too much on the hurt but on the aftermath of coming to terms with the separation. From the lyrics, the narrator of the song, Sisi, is ready to move on with hopefully someone with better qualities than her ex-boyfriend, wanting nothing to do with him.
With just a year of doing music professionally, the beautiful 17-year old versatile musician continues to prove that music is what she was born to do. Within this short time, she has released a number of songs showcasing her flexibility on a myriad of genres including her garage heavy ‘One Night’, the Afroswing ‘The Right Side‘ as well as the pop radiating ‘Echo’.
Sisi’s immense talent has been celebrated by many leading her to secure placements from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, GRM Daily and BBC London. Embracing her vocal abilities from a young age while at church with her family, Sisi developed a passion for songwriting when the pandemic hit, she released her debut song ‘Cloud 9’ that landed Track Of The Week on BBC Radio 1Xtra, the first-ever North East artist to have achieved this feat.
Sisi’s feathery vocals and layered harmonies on ‘Next Call’ paint a vivid picture of a woman ready to let go of her toxic relationship to find a lover who would give her the love and affection she deserves.
