Coming on the back of the success of his last single ‘Feeling’, UK afrobeats pioneer SILVASTONE is excited to unveil his brand new single titled ‘BORN AGAIN’, which is the latest single from his much-anticipated upcoming fourth project Evolution.

In true renowned SILVASTONE fashion, ‘Born Again’ displays his signature multi-genre sound. This time round, the multi-talented SILVASTONE fuses his sweetly layered melodic vocals over a soulfully self-produced afrobeats instrumental that evidently illustrates touches of his foundational influences, from R&B and hip-hop, to highlife and gospel music.

Written and produced by SILVASTONE himself, ‘Born Again’ sees the Croydon native singing about how finding true love makes us all feel reborn. As he explains, “The song and its title are a play on words with multiple meanings. It’s about a refresh. A renewal. Resetting and starting again. Whether that’s life or love. And it’s appropriate in this now post-lockdown times where many of us like myself are picking up where we left off or starting afresh. It’s a feel-good song and something I know we all need right now. And, as a man of God of course, there’s nothing better than being ‘Born Again’. The song was recorded in my Croydon studio but was inspired by a trip I had just made to Ghana. It infuses the vibes and energy I had just enjoyed out there. Though it’s a love song at heart, ‘Born Again’ is also musically very spiritual and anointing in its underlying essence”.

Right from the intro to the fade-out, the vibeful ‘Born Again’ is packed with top-notch quality in every element, with SILVASTONE playing all the musical instruments you hear on the song. This is a finely tuned fusion of African beats, UK sounds and global melodies from a renowned creative who always delivers music to the highest standards. Its accompanying music video, filmed in SILVASTONE’s hometown in Croydon and directed by Eric Myers, who has also worked with Tion Wayne, Clean Bandit, NSG and Backroad Gee, among others, matches all these attributes. As SILVASTONE puts it, “the ‘Born Again’ video balances a love story whilst projecting the feel-good party vibe of its message, and I also wanted it to showcase a 360-degree view of my neighbourhood in Croydon”.

SILVASTONE is a London-based afrobeats artist, producer, and songwriter whose unique sound is a creative hybrid of his West African heritage and UK upbringing. He has been actively making headways over the last few years and is one of the pioneering prominent fixtures of the ever-evolving dynamic UK Afro scene. The multi-talented former MOBO Awards ‘Best African Act’ nominee has enjoyed year-on-year support across UK airwaves and streaming platforms and regularly performs at renowned festivals and events all around the world, including the likes of Glastonbury, SXSW, Liverpool International Music Festival, and the A3C Festival.
In addition to self-releasing his music under his own imprint Silvastone Music with Africori and Warner Music, Croydon-born and raised creative SILVASTONE also writes and produces all his own music. The British Ghanaian/Sierra-Leonean talent also counts the likes of Damian Marley, Davido, Bugzy Malone, French Montana, Yemi Alade, Popcaan and Sneakbo among the artists he has collaborated with, while also producing music for a host of major international brands including Nike, Emirates, Coca Cola, and Netflix, and having his compositions featured in several notable films and popular television shows around the world.
