South African rapper and music entrepreneur, Nota Baloyi, has hit back at the defamation lawsuit filed against him by Warner Music, following remarks he made about the label.
Widely regarded as an outspoken personality in South African music circles, he took to Twitter with this post:
“If you want to kill your career as a South African or African artist all you need to do is sign with WARNER AFRICA… It’s a declaration of WAR for you to respond the way you did, instead of promoting the artists that have entrusted you with their careers. I have been saying this!“
He posted a copy of the lawsuit on his Twitter account with the caption:
“Uthini lo? WARNER AFRICA want to sue me, now me & @therealxavier are blocked…“
Born Nhlamulo Bolayi, Nota is the director at The Orchard, which is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. He is also the managing director at SoFet Urbantainment, and former manager of SA rapper, KWESTA.
