idimilan Channels Pain and Purpose on Powerful EP ‘Thee’

idimilan

Fast-rising Nigerian singer-songwriter idimilan makes a striking statement with his newly released EP ‘Thee,’ a deeply reflective Afrobeats project rooted in survival, identity, ambition, and the realities of everyday life in Nigeria.

Born Chidiebube Ogbogu and raised in Asaba, Delta State, idimilan has steadily emerged as one of the most thoughtful new voices in the evolving Afrobeats scene.

A graduate of Delta State University with a degree in English and Literary Studies, his artistry is heavily shaped by storytelling, lived experiences, and emotional honesty.

Since the release of his debut single “My Element,” he has continued to carve out a unique sound that blends introspection with rich Afrobeats energy.

At the center of ‘Thee’ is the standout track ‘Ayah,’ a powerful record that confronts corruption, broken leadership, and the emotional weight many Nigerians carry daily.

Rather than simply criticising the system, the song reflects on hope, resilience, and the possibility of change, speaking directly to young people trying to survive and stay true to themselves despite societal pressure.

Recorded primarily in his bedroom before final production and refinement, the EP carries a raw and intimate feel.

Prominent bass guitar elements, layered melodies, and emotionally charged songwriting create a project that feels deeply personal yet universally relatable.

Across the body of work, idimilan explores fake love, stress, loneliness, overthinking, and the silent burden of chasing purpose in difficult times.

What makes ‘Thee’ truly compelling is its honesty.

This is not just music for enjoyment; it is music that understands people.

Through vulnerable storytelling and soulful expression, idimilan delivers a soundtrack for dreamers, fighters, and anyone determined to protect their peace while becoming undeniable.
