California-Based Nigerian Singer Fii3rd Releases ‘For The Money’ Visuals

Fii3rd

Following the release of his new album Son Of Imo, California-based Nigerian artiste Fii3rd releases the self-directed music video for the album’s focus track and one of the early fan-favourites ‘For The Money’.

Delivering yet again on his fusion sound of R&B, afrobeats, melodic rap and traditional highlife music, ‘For The Money’ sees Fii3rd collaborating with burgeoning producer Callie Majik, who has also recently worked with Ayra Starr and Magixx, with a guest appearance from up-and-coming Nigerian rap artist Bad. The accompanying music video for ‘For The Money’ was filmed across three different continents and directed by Fii3rd himself, and it chronicles what him and his team have been up to while putting together his Son Of Imo album over the past few years.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘For The Money’, Fii3rd says, “We created the song right before the album dropped. I had just met Callie Majik for the first time and I took him to rap artist Bad so we could listen to some beats. When he played us the ‘For The Money’ beat, we instantly fell in love. We recorded the song overnight and the rest is history. This song is inspired by our love for the hustle. We work hard for the money because money equals peace of mind. This song is for everyone out there just trying to make ends meet without all the drama. The hustlers, the grinders, the CEOs, the boss ladies – anyone who’s on a daily grind to reach the top”.

Fii3rd made his debut in 2017 and has quickly carved out a lane for himself with his afrobeats and R&B fusion sound and breakout tracks such as ‘Iheoma’, ‘Gbam Gbam’ and ‘DIA’. His new album Son Of Imo has been three years in the making and the 17-track offering serves as his most ambitious project to date.
