Nigerian singer and songwriter Ckay recently celebrated his 28th birthday, and he decided to treat himself to something truly special.
Ckay got himself an absolutely stunning present! A gorgeous custom-made diamond necklace. Inspired by his debut album, the necklace’s pendant is in the shape of a healing heart. And that’s not all! It also has the caption: “Sad Romance”, which is the title of his debut album boldly engraved behind it. Impressive, right?
The necklace was specially crafted by UK-based A Jewellers, a renowned firm specializing in the crafting of bespoke jewelry pieces. It is speculated that it took a whopping 8 months to carefully handcraft the one-of-a-kind masterpiece together. And judging by its exquisite design, it must have cost a fortune!
Carving a niche for himself with his distinct Afro-emo sound, the past few years have witnessed CKay’s meteoric rise, marked by the global explosion of “Love Nwatiti”, a sultry record off his 2019-released CKay The First project.
Three years later, “Sad Romance”, his debut full-length project, was released, solidifying his spot on the Afrobeats scene. The record, according to the artist, is a personal project that chronicles his own love life. He collaborated with some incredible artists such as Davido, Focalistic, Ronisia, Mayra Andrade, and Ayra Starr to bring this emotive project to life! In June of this year, Ckay blessed us with a deluxe edition of the critically acclaimed album.
On his birthday, July 16, CKay shared a photo on his social media showing himself enjoying a private dinner in the Parisian night, with the Eiffel Tower serving as his backdrop. And guess what? He proudly adorned his outfit with the “Sad Romance” diamond necklace, showcasing his love and connection to the remarkable album.
